Zoological Park and Adelaide Zoo
Only 45 minutes from Adelaide is Monarto Zoo boasting the only
drive through Cheetah habitat in Australia. Safari buses led by
volunteer guides travel assist you to view Australia’s largest
giraffe herd, the Southern white rhinoceros and many other amazing
animals.
Adelaide Zoo has over 3,400 animals and almost 300 species of
exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish exhibited

Wildlife Park
Just 12 km from Adelaide City centre, Cleland Conservation Park
is just 12km from Adelaide and is natural bushland on the Adelaide
Hills face which includes the popular Cleland Wildlife Park, the
viewing platform of Mt Lofty Summit and scenic Waterfall Gully.
The area has a rich history of Aboriginal occupation and European
settlement.

Botanic Gardens
Adelaide Botanic Garden is open to the public every day and has
free guided walks which leave from outside the Botanic Gardens
Restaurant every day of the year (except on Good Friday and Christmas
Day). Special interest walks can also be booked for groups of
five or more. There are school holiday activities for children
aged 5 - 12 years. Participants create fun art and craft projects
while learning about the environment.

Lofty Botanic Garden
Guided walks in the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden, Lampert Road,
Piccadilly, leave from the lower car park at the end of Lampert
Road. 10:30am every Thursday in Spring (September, October and
November). 10:30am every Thursday in Autumn (March, April and
May).The walks last about one and a half hours.

Botanic Garden
Guided walks leave from the car park off Shepherd’s Hill Road,
Blackwood at10:30am every Tuesday in Spring (September, October
and November). The walks last about one and a half hours.

Port Adelaide’s Maritime Museum which provides an insight into
the maritime past of the state. The children will enjoy climbing
the lighthouse and boarding the floating collection.
Glenelg

Take a trip to Glenelg on the coast by historic tram, which stops
right beside the beach. Enjoy the beach and see the Old Gum Tree
where the colony of South Australia was proclaimed in 1836.
Rodney
Fox Shark Experience
Since his attack by a shark in 1963, Rodney Fox has spent most
of his life to the research, observation and preservation of the
Great White Shark. The museum houses collectables, art and curios,
pictures, clothing and fossil and modern shark teeth and jaws.

The Gaol is open Sunday to Friday and you can visit cell blocks,
exercise yards, prison facilities, hanging tower and graves. Regular
guided tours are available on Sundays and BBQ and refreshment

This is a great way for children to discover the delights of the
